Brazilian Butt Lift

A Brazilian Butt Lift is a procedure designed to create a more prominent, sensual, enhanced buttock. It involves injecting your fat lipo suctioned from other areas into your buttock.

People of all ages can have a Brazilian Butt Lift. There must be enough fat to be harvested for re-injection. People with limited fat may benefit from a gluteal augmentation with implants rather than a fat transfer or Brazilian Butt Lift.

Considering Brazilian Butt Lift with Fat Transfer

Upon consultation, Dr. Loessin will evaluate if the patient has enough fat to transfer. In case of not having enough fat, Dr. Loessin will explain other surgical techniques available to you such as gluteal implants. Your questions will be answered as thoroughly as possible. A meticulous examination of your trouble area will be performed. Dr. Loessin will go over the risks and potential complications of the procedure, as well as, the pre-operative and post-operative process.

A Brazilian Butt Lift is performed under general anesthesia. The surgery takes between two and three hours. Liposuction is performed at the same time to contour the body and harvest the fat. The fat will then be purified and injected back into the buttock. After the procedure, dressings will be applied and you will be placed in post-operative garments.

Like any other procedure the outweighed risks of having a Brazilian Butt Lift are lesser if you are physically healthy and a non-smoker. Nevertheless, as with any surgery, there is always a possibility of complications, including bleeding, infection, or reaction to the anesthesia. You can reduce your risks by closely following the written instructions we provide you before and after surgery. It is crucial that you have a positive outlook and specific, but realistic goals in mind for the improvement of your appearance.

Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery Most Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect post-operatively?
After surgery, you will most likely have some drainage from your incisions. Discomfort should be controlled with oral pain medications prescribed by Dr. Loessin. You will likely feel tired and sore for a few days following the Brazilian Butt Lift. Bruising and swelling may take a few weeks to resolve. You must not sit directly on your buttock for up to 3 weeks.

When can I get back to normal?
We will want you to get up and walk immediately after the surgery and continue this for the next few weeks. You will begin to feel better in a couple of days. You will need to be in compression garments for 10 weeks after the procedure. Healing is a gradual process that needs time. You should refrain from strenuous activity for a couple of weeks. Depending on your job, you can go back to work as soon as you feel comfortable. Resumption of physical activity will be determined by Dr. Loessin in your post-operative follow up exams on the day after surgery, two weeks, six weeks and then 10 weeks.

Will I see immediate results?
The swelling can take a number of months to completely resolve. If your expectations are realistic, you should be very pleased with your surgery. You may find you fit into clothes differently and be more at ease with your shape. If you maintain your weight and continue to exercise, your results should be longer lasting.
